Fundraising Leader
United Way Canada
United Way Canada is seeking a seasoned Fundraising Leader to spearhead the development and implementation of a multifaceted fundraising program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop annual work plans that drive revenue growth
- Collaborate with senior leaders to establish policies and practices for effective stewardship of donor dollars
- Oversee the creation and administration of systems, tools, and processes to expand revenue streams
- Analyze data to inform strategic decisions and recommend new or enhanced strategies to increase donor recruitment, retention, engagement, and revenue
Annual Campaign:
- Design objectives and tactics to achieve Campaign goals
- Lead and collaborate with the Campaign Chair and Cabinet to identify key prospects
- Incorporate Leadership and Major Giving strategies into the Campaign plan
- Leverage data to inform mid-year and year-end campaign reviews and analysis sessions
Individual Giving:
- Work with the Major Gift team to develop and implement a long-term plan and strategy for planned giving
- Collaborate with the Director, Community Impact to execute and evaluate long-term strategies that build and expand donor relationships
Donor Relationship Management:
- Develop and manage a comprehensive range of cultivation, retention, and recognition strategies
- Maintain accurate records of gifts, identifying opportunities to advance relationships
- Evaluate and improve existing plans and tools to support donors effectively
- Identify business development opportunities and emerging markets
Financial and Staff Management:
- Manage departmental finances effectively
- Assist the Special Events Coordinator in securing sponsorship opportunities
- Recruit, train, and coach the philanthropy team; establish performance and development plans
- Provide management coverage to other teams when necessary
Organizational Management and Leadership:
- Collaborate with peers to develop and implement strategic plans; assess policies and address operational challenges
- Offer counsel on philanthropy and revenue generation best practices
- Represent United Way at events as required
- Contribute to the organization's Reconciliation and Equity Plan by participating in learning opportunities and implementing anti-oppressive and anti-racist principles into action internally and externally
Requirements:
- University degree or equivalent in a relevant field
- 5+ years of experience in fundraising and senior leadership roles
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding fundraising goals
- Familiarity with group dynamics, community needs, corporate structures, business trends, and labor organizations
