2026-2027 Board Recruitment Posting

Davenport-Perth Neighbourhood and Community Health Centre (DPNCHC) is recruiting board members for its 2026-2027 board year. We are especially seeking individuals who reflect the racial/ethnic diversity of the community and who hold leadership roles in local community groups or organizations. Some of the predominant populations we serve are Afro-Caribbean, Portuguese-speaking, and Spanish-speaking clients. Furthermore, to ensure that we represent the diversity of our community, we encourage applications from community members who are fluent in Portuguese, have lived experience with disabilities, and/or are members of Indigenous, racialized, and 2SLGBTQI+ communities.

DPNCHC is a non-profit neighbourhood and community health centre located in the West Central area of Toronto in the Davenport riding. Our mission states that Davenport-Perth Neighbourhood and Community Health Centre provides integrated, accessible health, and community services for individuals and families in our community who experience social and economic barriers to ignite change, improve lives, and strengthen the community. We offer a range of services, including primary health care and health promotion programs for adults, seniors, children, and youth, settlement services, and literacy programs.

DPNCHC is currently recruiting board members who can attend monthly board meetings, participate on a board subcommittee and participate in other Board and community events. Board members have an opportunity to contribute to the welfare of the communities DPNCHC serves, develop valuable skills, and help improve lives. Candidates may have an interest and/or expertise in the following areas:

  • Accounting and Finance
  • Change Management
  • Risk Management
  • Quality Improvement/Data Analysis
  • Strategic Planning
  • Legal
  • Subject Matter Experts (Disability Rights/Accessibility, Mental Health, Newcomers)
  • Knowledge of the Davenport-West community

We have spots available for both associate (outside our catchment area; see below) and community board members who live within the following boundaries:

  • Bloor Street to the south
  • The CN/CP rail tracks to the west
  • Rogers Road, Rosecliffe Ave and St. Clair Ave West to the north
  • Bathurst St to the east

DPNCHC will give preference to candidates who identify with equity-deserving groups and whose backgrounds are diverse in culture, race, language, religion, class, gender, sexual orientation, education, and ability.
