The national campaign is working to make poverty a focus of U.S. and U.K. foreign policy.

The Borgen Project is an international organization that works at the political level to improve living conditions for people impacted by war, famine, and poverty.
With 20 years of experience in advocacy, The Borgen Project has supported the passage of numerous bills benefiting close to 500 million people in developing countries.
Nonprofit Leadership Program
This role provides insight into the key skills required to lead and develop a nonprofit organization. It is a part-time, 12-hours-per-week, 12-week unpaid remote program. If your availability is limited, you can work ahead and complete the program in fewer weeks.
Program Components
- Advocacy Leadership Development: Meet with government members in your district, represent The Borgen Project at various events, and mobilize individuals to support poverty-reduction legislation.
- Fundraising Development: Learn how to fundraise by creating a personal campaign and meeting targets.
- Recruitment: Update job postings, inform groups about openings, and participate in interviews.
- Marketing and Promotion: Pitch story ideas to media, utilize social media, and develop web messaging strategies.
Experience: No prior experience is necessary. We seek passionate individuals committed to fighting poverty, regardless of background or GPA.
Details: This is an unpaid program; college credit may be available.
Start Date: New programs start every month. You can choose your start month.
