Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Volunteer Bookkeeper to support our financial administration. This role is ideal for someone who wants to contribute to a meaningful mission while gaining hands-on experience with nonprofit accounting.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate financial records and bookkeeping entries
Reconcile monthly accounts and track expenses
Support preparation of financial statements and reports
Assist with grant and funding documentation
Ensure compliance with CRA and nonprofit reporting standards
Work with the Executive Director to improve and maintain financial systems
Qualifications
Experience with bookkeeping or accounting (education or equivalent experience)
Familiarity with QuickBooks, Wave, or similar accounting software
Understanding of nonprofit financial requirements (asset, but not required)
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
