The Position
As part of the Philanthropy team, the Senior Manager, Major Gifts is responsible for developing and engaging a portfolio of current and prospective individual and Foundation major donors, giving in the range of $250,000+. Working with an optimized portfolio, the key focus will be on building meaningful relationships with donors in the GTA through the successful cultivation, stewardship and solicitation of donors and prospects for the 5.5M+ girls Plan International Canada champions globally.
This philanthropy leader may also have a Junior staff member as a direct report based on full-time or part-time role. We are looking for a self-motivated and experienced development professional who is collaborative, revenue focused and enjoys building high-growth portfolio. Your passion for fundraising is coupled with a strong interest in meeting global need for children, especially girls. You are someone comfortable leading and closing solicitations with current donors and engaging new prospects to expand our champion base. Our successful candidate will have experience in major gift solicitation, cultivation and stewardship of major gift donors and people leadership.
What success looks like?
- Cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of a robust portfolio of current donors at gift levels of $250+
- Experience in developing complex major gift partnerships that engage multiple stakeholders and inspire 6-7 figure contributions
- Builds meaningful connections with qualified prospects that results in new and diverse revenue streams including the acquisition of new engaged supporters
- Supports development of briefing materials, proposals and presentations for donor, advisor, and community foundations meetings
- Implements creative strategies and quality stewardship that inspire donors to make multi-year commitment and/ or stretch gifts
- Effectively communicates Plan International’s fundraising priorities to reflect the interests and investment of donors and prospects
As Our Ideal Candidate You Will Have
- Demonstrated experience cultivating and securing six-figure+ philanthropic commitments in relationship-based fundraising, grant writing, and/or corporate partnerships. Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) designation preferred
- A proven track record of working with major gift donors and advancing opportunities to scale impact
- Demonstrated tact, integrity and diplomacy with a professional presence and manner; capable of exercising independent judgment and flexibility
- Listening skills with the ability to interpret the concerns and interests of donors, translating them into attractive opportunities for investment
- A valid Class 5/ G driver’s license, use of a reliable vehicle and ability to travel nationally and internationally, as required

Plan International Canada is a hybrid workplace. You will work from the office and from home.
The salary range for this position is anticipated to be between $73,000 and $91,000. We comprehensively evaluate a variety of factors to determine fair compensation, including experience, specific job-related skills, and relevant educational or professional training. Additionally, we ensure that compensation is equitable across our team and aligns with current market trends. This role also qualifies for an extensive benefits package and generous paid time off.
