Kennel Attendant/dog Handler at Non Profit Shelter

**About us**

No Dogs Left Behind is a U.S. registered 501(c)(3) incorporated non-profit animal welfare organization based in New York City, and also operates in Canada and China. Our mission is to save dogs from the year-round meat trade in East Asia that claims the lives of 30 million dogs annually where they are slaughtered for consumption. We give them necessary medical care, rehabilitate them and give them sanctuary in our 2 shelters in China until we can transport them to the United States or Canada to their adopters.

We recently established a new boarding sanctuary in Scarborough, Ontario, located just north of The Toronto Zoo to house our beautiful survivors until they are fostered or adopted.

Our organization is in search of a Kennel Assistant to maintain our animal enclosures and ensure a high level of sanitation in the facility. The Kennel Assistant interacts with veterinarians, kennel techs, and animal care specialists to ensure our animals receive the best customer service.

• *Responsibilities**:

- Clean cages, kennels, and livestock pens.

- Carry out daily animal care maintenance routines such as feeding and watering animals.

- Perform routine tasks to maintain cages, kennels and pens.

Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift

- 8 hour shift

- Day shift

- Evening shift

- Every Weekend

- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Scarborough, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

• *Experience**:

- dog handling: 2 years (required)

- Pet Daycare & Boarding Occupations: 2 years (required)
