Board Treasurer – Volunteer Position
New Circles Community Services
Our Mission
New Circles is a registered Charity that helps individuals and families in need with free
clothing, pre-employment skills training and settlement services.
The Opportunity
In the past twenty years we have grown to an organization of 20 full-time staff, 130
volunteers, an annual budget of $3 Million, serving more than 30,000 clients a year. Our
impact on society has been profound. In 2025, the On-Board Program at Rotman School of
Management determined that for every $1 invested in New Circles, $8 in social and
economic value was generated. Our recent move to new, larger premises and an extensive
rebranding initiative have coincided with the launch of a new strategic plan with a bold
ambition. By 2035, our goal is to help one million individuals and families in need across
Canada. This “big, hairy and audacious” goal will require restructuring of the organization,
as well as expansion to meet needs in additional communities within the GTA, and across
the province and the country.
We are seeking a dedicated individual to help ensure the long-term financial sustainability
and fiscal responsibility of our organization, in compliance with all relevant regulations for
a federally incorporated Charity in Canada.
The Treasurer provides financial leadership and oversight to the board, ensuring proper
financial records and procedures are maintained. The Treasurer will be expected to
dedicate an average of 5 hours per month to the position and is a two-year term, that’s
renewable.
