Position Overview: Empower Her Soft is seeking a dedicated and resourceful Grant and Fundraising Researcher (Volunteer) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for supporting women's empowerment and will assist in identifying and researching funding opportunities to support our mission. This volunteer role will involve researching grants, foundations, corporate giving programs, and fundraising initiatives that align with our goals, helping us grow and maintain the financial resources necessary to expand our programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Grant Research:
• Identify and research potential grant opportunities, including government funding, private foundations, corporate grants, and other relevant funding sources.
• Monitor and track deadlines for grant applications and funding opportunities.
• Assess eligibility criteria and ensure that all applications align with Empower Her Soft’s mission and program areas.
• Fundraising Research:
• Research individual and corporate donors, and identify new fundraising opportunities.
• Identify potential partnerships or sponsorships with organizations, corporations, and influencers interested in supporting women’s empowerment initiatives.
• Assist in the development of fundraising strategies and campaigns by researching industry best practices and trends.
• Proposal Support:
• Assist in the preparation of grant proposals, fundraising letters, and other funding-related documents, ensuring all necessary research and information is provided.
• Help in gathering data and impact stories to strengthen funding applications.
• Database Management:
• Maintain an organized database of research findings, potential funders, and submission deadlines.
• Track the status of all grants and fundraising efforts and report back on progress.
• Collaboration:
• Work closely with the Executive Director and other team members to align research findings with Empower Her Soft’s fundraising strategies.
• Provide insights and recommendations on how to optimize fundraising efforts.

Qualifications:

• Strong research skills and experience in identifying funding opportunities.
• Knowledge of the nonprofit sector and funding landscape in Canada.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
• Passion for women’s empowerment and social change.
• Previous experience in grant writing or fundraising is an asset but not required.
• Familiarity with Google Drive, Microsoft Office Suite, and research databases.
