The Volunteer’s Role

This placement seeks to enhance private sector participation in human rights in Honduras by reinforcing the efforts of the Human Rights Industrial Committee and related initiatives driven by the National Association of Industrials (ANDI). The goal is to involve ANDI's corporate members in promoting human rights awareness among their workforce. This initiative focuses on addressing gender-based violence and advocates for human rights, including programs that support individuals with disabilities.

As a volunteer, you will

  • Collaborate with the Human Rights and Gender Industrial committees to develop and implement a training action plan focused on Human Rights for the executives, staff, and employees of ANDI member organizations.
  • Assist in the facilitation of training sessions and the preparation of relevant materials.
  • Aid in promoting and sharing the initiatives undertaken by the Industrial Human Rights Committee and its member companies.
  • Support additional HR initiatives carried out by ANDI and Cuso International.

Essential Requirements

  • A university degree in social science, international development, or a related field, along with equivalent experience.

Essential Background

  • Knowledge of issues related to Human Rights
  • Hands-on research experience involving various stakeholders, including CSOs, MSMEs, NGOs, and local and national government entities
  • Comprehension of inclusive and participatory approaches, employing gender-sensitive methods among diverse stakeholders
  • Experience in the private sector with a demonstrated ability to work effectively within multicultural and interdisciplinary teams.

Project - Sharing Canadian Expertise for Inclusive Development and Gender Equality (SHARE)

Cuso International will deliver the Sharing Canadian Expertise for Inclusive Development and Gender Equality (SHARE) project, with a contribution from Global Affairs Canada (GAC) over seven years ). SHARE aims to improve the economic and/or social well-being of the poorest, most marginalized and vulnerable people, particularly women and girls, in developing countries, with a view to contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals.

In addition to increasing the engagement of Canadians in international development and key global issues, this project will aim to increase the performance of country partners to deliver more inclusive, innovative and environmentally sustainable development initiatives that advance gender equality, in support of the action areas of Canada’s Feminist International Assistance Policy.
