Non-Profit Business Animator
Becoming Church
Becoming Church, a new faith community of the United Church of Canada, is seeking an individual to fill the role of Nonprofit Business Animator (Project Administration Officer) for a 9 week, 30 hours per week contract, starting in July.
The Nonprofit Business Animator position is one of meaningful work centred around social justice, spirituality, research, business ethics, as well as individual and systemic learning. The position will focus on building a proposal for a new business in the Queens Park Neighbourhood in New Westminster—one that contributes to the community, operates sustainably, and is viable. We’re seeking a curious, innovative, and compassionate young adult to join the inclusive and open-minded team at Becoming Church.
This position pays $21 per hour. Successful candidates need to be willing to work in an affirming (meaning LGBTQIA2S+ inclusive) religious community whose values include social justice, community, worship, spiritual formation, and hospitality. Previous experience with (congregational) church community is an asset, but not required. Experience or degrees in business and/or marketing is an asset, but not required. Ability to manage time effectively is an asset.
You must fulfill the requirements of the Federal Canada Summer Jobs Program listed below:
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period,
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment and,
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
